Glittering jewelry fashion has always made a sparkly splash at the Grammys, and this year’s nominees will no doubt add to the gawk-worthy red carpet styles.
The 2009 Grammy nominations were announced last night in a concert featuring top acts including Christina Aguilera, Taylor Swift and John Mayer, and the list acknowledged rappers, retro acts, R & B stars and, of course, a bevy of rock and rollers. New Orleans rapper, Lil Wayne, came out the big winner with eight nods; Coldplay collected seven nominations; and hip hoppers, Jay-Z, Kanye West and Ne-Yo, tied with six apiece. Adele, the 20-year-old British singer and songwriter, snagged noms in three of the Grammys’ four top categories. And the collaboration between Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant and bluegrass darling Alison Krauss, were the surprise of the evening, garnering five nominations.
