The jewelry industry celebrated its best and brightest at the 8th annual GEM Awards in New York City. See what celebs added serious star power.
Awards Season is in full swing and the jewelry industry is keeping step in style. The Jewelry Information Center (JIC), the consumer public relations and marketing arm of Jewelers of America, held their 8th annual GEM Awards in New York last week, and the stars came out to shine. Hollywood regulars like Lindsay Price (wearing Ivanka Trump jewelry) and stylist extraordinaire, Robert Verdi, lit up the red carpet, with Tina Brown (founder/editor of The Daily Beast) and jewelry guru, Russell Simmons mingling with jewelry industry leaders, models and the fashionistas who love them.
The GEM Awards honors the achievements of individuals and companies whose work raises the visibility and status of fine jewelry and watches. Hosted by Barney’s fabulous creative director, Simon Doonan, the evening celebrated Madeleine K. Albright as the 2010 Style Star for her popular book, Read My Pins, and inducted three jewelers into the National Jeweler Hall of Fame: Richard Eiseman, president/CEO, Eiseman Jewels; Robert Rottenberg, CEO, Long’s Jewelers; and Jon Bridge, Co-CEO, Ben Bridge Jewelers. Visit the JICwebsite to learn more about the 2010 GEM Awards, and stay tuned for more Awards Show coverage on Jewelry.com and our blog, TheJewelry Insider.
