A mix of jewelry staples and jaw-dropping statements lit up the 17th annual ‘Women in Hollywood’ celebration. Who wore your favorite look?
A-list talent met classic couture on the red carpet of Elle’s ‘Women in Hollywood’ celebration last night at the Four Seasons hotel in Los Angeles. While some mega-stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton opted out of jewelry for this event, there were plenty of tinseltown takers to talk about. The statement necklace was the stand-out trend on stars like Viola Davis in a diamond and gemstone look, Hillary Swank in a David Yurman gemstone Chateleine necklace, Jodie Foster in a fashion diamond pendant and Molly Simms in a golden bib piece.
Others opted for understated elegance, like Annette Bening and Kate Hudson in simple hoops, Diane Kruger in diamond studs and (pregnant!) stylist, Rachel Zoe, in a barely-there diamond pendant on a thin gold chain.
Jodie Foster, Diane Keaton, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Sofia Coppola, Hilary Swank, Kerry Washington, Diane Kruger and newcomer Jessica Chastain were all recognized for their achievements in film during the show, with each one giving credit to other women for inspiration. Harrison Ford speculated that the event “came to be back in the days when they said, ‘There were no good parts for women’ and ‘Women aren’t highly regarded.'” Now, he said, “Women run Hollywood. Absolutely run Hollywood. And I’m glad.”
